Our School

Message from the Principal

Dear Caregivers, Students, and Friends of Mandeville Elementary,

We would like to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who make Mandeville Elementary a great place for students. We are able to meet our students’ needs so well due to the dedication of parents, faculty, staff, and volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering next year, please contact our PTA for opportunities that fit your schedule. We are always looking for helping hands! Thank you to each and every person who has given his/her time, talents, and treasures to ensure our students’ success.

Teaching children to value education is doing them a lifelong favor. Children who attend school regularly are more likely to be successful during their school years, and in their chosen occupations. Parents can help show students the value of education by ensuring their timely arrival to school and avoiding unnecessary check-outs and absences. When parents model the belief that consistent attendance is important and communicate that belief to their children starting in the elementary years, they create a wonderful foundation for their child's academic success.

As always, we believe that when families and schools work together, our students succeed. We encourage you to be as involved in your child’s education as you can. If you would like to find out about additional ways you can be involved or to learn about opportunities to volunteer at school, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Smith at 985-626-3950 or chantelle.smith@stpsb.org.

Yours in education,

Chantelle O. Smith, M. Ed., NBCT
